Project overview

The client was building a five-bedroom family home of around 205 square metres and asked AquaTherma to design and specify a renewable heat pump system.

Challenge

The system had to make good use of the three-phase supply and serve UFH on the ground floor with radiators on the first floor.

AquaTherma solution

AquaTherma specified a three-phase Vaillant aroTHERM Plus, open loop UFH with a limiting thermostat for the main living area, TRVs in bedrooms and a Vaillant uniSTOR unvented heat pump cylinder in the garage.

Outcome

The UFH and radiators were served without a conventional pump or blending valve on the manifold, using the Vaillant modulating pump with a small supporting pump to provide the necessary flow rates.
