Project overview

The clients were renovating and extending a property with filled cavities, solid brick and new insulated walls.

Challenge

The heat pump could not be located directly beside the house, while the heating system had to serve mixed construction types efficiently.

AquaTherma solution

AquaTherma designed a pipe-in-screed open loop UFH system for most of the ground floor, an open loop Variotherm overlay system for the first floor and supplied a large bore pre-insulated twin-core duct to the garden heat pump position.

Outcome

The system was commissioned during a cold snap in January 2024 and maintained comfort with flow temperature not exceeding 30 degrees C.

Tom, James and Angelo were easy to work with from start to finish, very responsive throughout, and continue to be so now the system is up and running.
